Communist Government, Youth Organizations And the Catholic Church In Post-War Croatia – Struggle To Prevail Among the Youth
One of the most important and strongest "enemies" of the new Yugoslav authorities, especially in Croatia, was the Catholic Church. It was a traditional institution in Croatia which had a strong impact on the population, and it was also the only remaining autonomous institution after the Communist elimination and transformation of the civil parties and the takeover of absolute power at all levels. That is why the new rulers tried to suppress its reputation and impact at all costs, especially among the youth.
