Interpersonal deviant work behavior - exploratory study among employees in Croatia
Deviant workplace behavior presents different employee behaviors that obey organizational norms and thus can harm the organization, as well as all its employees and their work related outcomes. In order to analyze the existence and scope of these behaviors, especially interpersonal deviant work behavior in organizations in Croatia, an empirical research was conducted on a sample of 199 employees in organizations in Croatia. Results show how most of the employees have encountered with some form of deviant work behavior, and very often have been the “victim” of such behavior. Majority of respondents have had consequences regarding mental and physical health because of problems associated with work and workplace. Additionally, results show how organizations still don’t have planned activities for prevention and fight against deviance at work, as well as no formal positions that can help employees that experience mobbing at work.
