Vaccination and Religion

Vaccination is one of the most important achievements of public health. The implementation of vaccination should be consider as the right of children on enjoyment of the highest standard of health. The beginning of the 21st century record more and more parents who are suspicious regarding the vaccination or who refuse the vaccination of their children. There are several reasons for that based on the assumed medical grounds or on the theories of conspiracy or on the religious ground or many others. In the review of literature there are many papers with the topics of religious reason for vaccination refusal. Some of the parents have raised questions concerning the admissibility of vaccines using cell origin from aborted fetus and Catholic Church. In this presentation we would like to stand point of Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism and Japanese religious viewpoints. Also, we would like to investigate is religion an exception for vaccination or an excuse or something in the middle.
