The Present Attempts for a High FR With Reduced Toxicity and High Amount of Traditional FR

Recently remarkable progress in science and technology didn’t enough contributed to the protection of people against the fire as there are still hundred thousands annual deaths from ffires. For this low safety reason flame retardancy on textiles and related materials could better move the last fifty years. This especially in terms of toxicity and environmental safety, lower amounts of FR with guarantee durability. In this paper the reduction of the concentration of urea and ammonium hydrogen phosphate as well as their synergy with silicon compounds (water glass and zeolite) was researched for the improvement of cotton flame retardancy. For better understanding the changes in cotton structure under the heat conditions thermogravimetric method and micro combustion calorimeter were used. Synergistic effect between urea ammonium hydrogen phosphate and water glass, and urea ammonium hydrogen phosphate, water glass and zeolite has been discussed.
