On the Core Ingram conjecture
The Ingram conjecture states that the non-degenerate inverse limits of tent maps with different slopes are non homeomorphic. It was stated in the early 90's and finally solved (in positive) by Barge, Bruin and Štimac. However, their proof crucially depends on the ray which compactifies on the core of the inverse limit space thus leaving the core version of the conjecture still open. We will present the known results on the topological structure of these spaces and discuss the recent proof of the core Ingram conjecture in the case when the critical orbit is infinite and non-recurrent.
