Philosophy of Religion without Metaphysics?
The primary intention of my essay is to show that there exists in the European tradition a clear continuity regarding the treatment of the epistemic preconditions of understanding and explanation of reality, and that in this activity of the human spirit is grounded the metaphysical character of philosophy. In my argumentation, I will focus primarily on the metaphysics of subjectivity as the fundamental philosophical discourse of modernity culminating in Kant's conception of the unity of self-consciousness (transcendental unity of apperception) as precondition for our understanding and explanation of objectivity and the world of our experience. This conception opens a range of possibilities for innovative analysis of the metaphysical foundation of philosophy and the exploration of the question of God in Philosophy.
