Enhanced Polynomial Approximation of Water Discharge at Hydro North

The paper presents calculation and implementation results of polynomial water discharge approximation from power unit’s PQH matrices. A case study is done for units in Hydro North basin in Croatia. Polynomial approach was used but commonly used polynomial order was augmented. The polynomial parameters were identified anew. Approximation results were verified using two independent verification methods. The operating results show good overlap of approximate values with measured ones. By the usage of new polynomials, the water discharge approximation has significantly improved.
