Anthropometric analysis as an important method for designing suitable furniture for preschool children

Human measures should always be taken as a benchmark during the design of educational facilities and furniture, in order to be fully functional and ergonomic. If the anthropometry is not followed or even applied correctly by designing furniture or equipping space, it can lead to dysfunctional and useless space and furniture, even harmful to the health of users'. Thus, ergonomic and anthropometric variables of kids are very important issue while designing and equipping kindergartens. The paper describes results of anthropometric measurements of 80 children divided in four groups in kindergartens in Skopje, Macedonia and relation to the dimension of the used furniture in those facilities.
