Sequential determination of 90Sr and 210Pb in bone
The bones can be used in environmental monitoring because radionuclides chemically similar to calcium, like 210Pb and 90Sr, depose in them during a life or an animal. Sequential separation of 210Pb and 90Sr in samples of wild animals bones allows the determination of this naturally radionuclide 210Pb and anthropogenic radionuclide 90Sr with good chemical yields and detection limits. Molecular recognition technology product IBC's AnaLig Sr-01 was used for 210Pb and 90Sr separation. From 1 to 10 g of bone ash was used for 210Pb and 90Sr analysis. The use and effectiveness of AnaLig Sr-01 gel was successfully checked by analysing of certified reference animal bone material, supplied by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA A-12) and reliable results have been obtained.
