In situ Vibrational Spectroscopy of Materials for Energy Conversion and Storage
When applied in real time to chemical systems exposed to external perturbation, such as time, temperature, concentration, force, pressure etc. vibrational spectroscopies provide a unique and deep insight on the molecular background of the dynamic processes relevant for action of materials. In this talk, a number of recent in-situ and real-time spectroscopic experiments will be presented. Emphasis will be on application of techniques of infrared and Raman spectroscopy to performance of materials for energy conversion and storage. In this context, spectroscopic monitoring of decomposition processes, mechanochemical syntheses and diffusion of the components during ageing will be described.
