Comparison between serum amyliod A protein and other acute phase reactants in children with respiratory tract infections
We measured serum amyloid A protein (SAA), C- reactive protein (CRP), alpha 1- antichymotripsine (ACT) and alpha 1 acid glycopreotein (AGO) levels for ten consecutive days in capillary plasma of 21 children suffering from respiratory tract infections. According to these resultes we may conclude that SAA and CRP are the best indicators of the disease activity and antimicrobial therapy sucess in children with respiratory tract infections. ACT and AGP were slower reactions to stimuli and showed small amplitudes.
