3D XY Scalling of the Irreversibilty Line of YBa_2Cu_3O_7 Crystals
We find experimentally that the irreversibility line, H_{irr}(T), and the reversible magnetizaion of twinned YBa_2Cu_3O_7 crystals both show 3D XY scaling, which suggests a common origin for both quantities. Analysis if this resault and a correlation between the condensation energy and H_{irr}(T) of oxygen deficient YBa_2Cu_3O_(7-delta) for 0<delta<0.6 implies that H_{irr}(T) is strongly influenced by critical fluctuations. It is possible that these values of H_{irr}(T) and the recently discovered vortex melting line, H_{m}(T), both correspond to an upper critical field line which has been suppresed by thermodynamic fluctuations.
