Hydrogeological conditions in genesis of the rare  Circular Anemolites in caves (Dinaric karst,  Croatia)

The artificial entrance in one cave in Gorski kotar (Dinaric karst, Croatia) was opened on 8th of July 1950. There is no natural entrance in this cave. Cave entrance was made because of quarry needs. In the cave exist strong water stream with waterfalls. The cave is full with speleothems specially classical wind amenolites. But in only one place there are tens of anemolites which are circular in structures, with special very rare morphology. Wind in this place of the cave (the main channel) have circular orientation because of waterfalls and two side cave channels. Also raising and falling of groundwater level in this part of cave is very important in genesis of this rare kind of anemolites. It is the first and only time that such kind of speleothems were found in Croatian karst. Hydrogeological conditions, lithostratigraphical factors (fault contact between Paleozoic clastites and Jurassic limestones), water and air chemical and physical conditions (air circulations - after first opening cave entrance in year 1950. with special door were protected and air circulations are the same like in the geological past), and tectonics are important components in genesis of Circular amenolites. The size of these anemolites are between 30 to 100 cm. Special measurements of air circulation and groundwater level changes were made through several years and photo and many micro geophysical measuring of these speleothems structures were done.
