Maximum Fillet Stress of Thin-Rimmed Gear During One Engagement Cycle

On the basis of complex pinion-gear 3D FEM model, spur gear tooth fillet stress state was determined. Maximum tensile tangential stress component and equivalent stress were analysed in relation to the influence of rim thickness. The analysis was performed for one engagement cycle by taking into account the load sharing between two tooth pairs in contact.
