Integrated management systems in Croatian hotels
The Croatian hotel industry is exposed to the global competition and its existence on a demanding market can be achieved only by following trends with regard to the quality improvement in all business aspects. In order to accomplish a high level of product and service quality, hotels implement international standards, among which ISO 9001 should be stressed. Furthermore, in order to assure quality in other aspects such as environmental protection, food safety and quality and occupational health and safety, hotels begin with the practice of implementing integrated management systems. Alongside with the standard ISO 9001, these systems include standard ISO 14001 (environment), ISO 22000 (food safety) and OHSAS 18001 (occupational health and safety). The research is focused on the analyses of the implementation of each international standard in Croatian hotels with the special emphasis on the integrated management systems. The interpretation of the benefits achieved through the implementation of these systems, should contribute to their faster and broader realization.
