THE EFFECT OF MATERIAL DENSITY ON LOAD RATE SENSITIVITY IN NON-LINEAR VISCOELASTIC MATERIAL MODEL
This work presents results of numerical sensitivity analysis of material density on crack propagation in non-linear viscoelastic material models. Two basic material models are analyzed: Maxwell and Kelvin material models under two basic loading types: impact and cyclic loading. Material is discretized with lattice model and analysis is performed on simple examples consisting of several lattice bars. Mathematical description is based on dynamic systems theory, i.e. as a system of non-linear differential equations for Kelvin and a system of non-linear differential- algebraic equations for Maxwell material model.
