Supporting Educators in Technology Enhanced Teaching

Information and communication technologies brought many changes in university education. Their implementation and use in teaching and learning in higher education have become a standard component in many courses. But still there are quite a number of teachers who refused to change the way they have been teaching or those who struggle with the use of ICT and often give up because of it. Those who are willing to enhance their teaching with the use of ICT are usually great enthusiasts. Institutions are sometimes unaware of their problems and the kind of support they need. Also, there are quite a number of institutions who think that by buying the technology they have done all the necessary work needed for a successful use of innovative technologies in the educational process. So support requirements are a critical element in accelerated growth and success of e-learning in higher education. Realising the importance of support to users in e-learning, universities should integrate this issue in the framework of the university vision and strategy on e-learning and provide organized and sustainable support to users.
