Inter-Regional and Local Saints' Cults: Examples of Significant Liturgical Chants from Medieval Region of Istria
This article depicts profile of sanctorale of the region of Istria and finds the traces of Bavarian and Aquileian liturgical layers presented in liturgical texts and chants. Research presented here shows also concrete examples of inter-regional saints' cults that had been documented in the Gregorian chants for mass and office, used in medieval Pula in 11th –14th century period. At the same time it analyses the portion of liturgical chant repertory that is «unique» for the Istrian region as is the sequence Armonia concinnans for the Pula's saint-patron St Thomas apostle.
