Computed tomography in dimensional metrology and material analysis

Computed tomography is a new method in dimensional metrology which uses X-ray to obtain information about measured object. It is a three- dimensional, non contact and non destructive inspection method which enables measurements and insight in both external and internal geometries and features of measured objects. Method is also used in material inspection with accent on detection of pores and inclusions in material. Taking into account that this is a relatively new method for dimensional measurement, measurement uncertainty and traceability are still not ensured.
