Standardization of the Achievement Motivation Inventory in Croatia
The Achievement Motivation Inventory (AMI ; Schuler & Prochaska, 2001) has been translated and adapted for use in Croatia. The AMI is a broadband diagnostic procedure that covers all dimensions that are considered to be a part of achievement motivation. The major applications of the AMI are for personnel selection, personnel development, professional counseling with regard to job decisions and sport psychology. AMI consists of 3 domains (Self- Assurance, Ambition and Self-Control) that are further divided into 17 scales. Each of the 17 scales has 10 items, resulting in a total of 170 items which have a 7-point Likert format. The items include a mixture of statements worded in positive and negative directions. The Croatian standardization was conducted on 267 students (82 males and 185 females) and 266 working adults (123 males and 143 females). In this paper, we will present the norms for the Croatian standardization. We will also present a brief comparison of the results with the German sample.
