ORAL PAPILOMA IN AFRICAN HEDGEHOG (Atelerix albiventris)
African hedgehogs (Atelerix albiventris) also known as African pygmy hedgehogs, are now commonly maintained in zoo parks. Worldwide these animals have recently become popular exotic pets and also in Croatia. Hedgehogs are individuals and nocturnal animals, thus, they rely on olfactory and auditory senses. The current case report represents anaesthesia, intensive care during recovery, surgical procedure of mandibulary tumor removal, and additional diagnostics possibilities performed at Veterinary faculty in Zagreb, Croatia, for the first time.
