Information Technology as the Security Logistics in the Passenger Handling at Airports
The security concept of the management process implies individual safety of every single element within it, in order to prevent the system disturbance or failure due to a single element event. Each and every element of the system should be independent from any other element and the system as a whole. Hence, security concept is applicable primarily to internal factors of danger. The application of advanced information technologies has major impact on passengers handling at any airport. This paper analyses the application of IT during passenger and baggage handling processes at the Split Airport and suggests solution in which the security control of passengers and hand baggage follows immediately after the passenger check-in procedure.
