Design Solution of the Tunnel "Komorjak-north"

The main design of the tunnel "Komorjak-north" near Omiš, is presented in this work. The tunnel is road tunnel on the state road which, in the future, will serve as bypass road of Omiš, which is now crowded with traffic especially during summer months. In the article the basic traffic and geometric characteristics of the tunnel are given, and the design solution with comments about the issue of the tunnel’s construction is briefly presented. Some expected characteristics of the rock mass and excavation methods, as well as the type of support, which are adopted in ge-otechnical and structural solutions, are also displayed.
