The influence of radical innovation culture on business performance in the croatian manufacturing industry
The aim of this paper is to define the main subcomponents of radical innovation culture (RIC) and investigate their impact on business performance in the Croatian manufacturing industry. Autonomy, cannibalisation, proactiveness and risk-taking were taken as the main elements of RIC and their influence on firm effectiveness, customer satisfaction and time-to-market was measured. PLS-SEM of quantitative data from a survey of 203 Croatian manufacturing firms was used to test the proposed hypotheses. Results suggest that RIC subcomponents may be divided into two groups according to their influence on business performance. The first group consisted of autonomy and proactiveness and showed a clear positive influence on business performance. The second group consisted of risk-taking and cannibalisation but in this case no influence on business performance was detected. Implications of the findings advance understanding of radical innovation in transitional economies.
