Asymptotic formulas for the binomial coefficients and the Catalan numbers

We analyze asymptotic expansions of the binomial coecients and the Catalan numbers and obtain some new interesting formulas introducing shifted variable in the asymptotic expansion. Asymptotic formulas for the sum of the binomial coecients and the Catalan numbers are also derived and presented.
