Correspondence of Sensibilities: Bauhaus and the Interwar Croatian Architecture
The work examines the impact and significance of the Bauhaus for the development of architectural thinking in Croatia between the two world wars. It points to an interesting agreement of the two cultural milieus. The architecture of Zagreb in the late 1920s and 1930s reveals telling overlapping with the contemporary works of the Bauhaus teachers and students, in terms of their aesthetics, structures, materials, effects and forms, what points to a deeper correspondence of two artistic sensibilities, i.e. the proclivity of Croatian architects towards similar creative approaches and procedures
