Bishop Strossmayer and Glagolitic Liturgy

The issue of Glagolitic liturgy in the nineteenth century is a crucial part of a much broader topic – restoration of heritage of Cyril and Methodius on Croatian territory (and among other Slavs), and cannot be viewed outside of that context. Therefore, it is my goal in this presentation to indicate the basic coordinates of that context in order to clarify the reasons for return of the Old Church Slavonic language to liturgical use. The presentation is philological in nature and is based on the so-called external history of language.
