Prehistoric hunter-gatherers and farmers in the Adriatic and neighbouring regions. Programme and Abstratcs

Adriatic region is of an extreme importance due to its geographic position which connects the Mediterranean with the European continental area, which is reflected in the rich archaeological record. In the last twenty years, numerous Stone Age sites have been discovered and researched, and they provided new insights and interpretations of prehistoric population which inhabited this area as well of their connections with the neighbouring areas. One of those sites is the Middle Palaeolithic site Mujina cave, which was systematically excavated in the period from 1995 to 2003. The 20th anniversary of the beginning of systematic research in Mujina cave is the reason for the organisation of the scientific conference entitled Prehistoric hunter-gatherers and farmers in the Adriatic and neighbouring regions, which shall present the new results and insights related to the research of the Adriatic and surrounding regions, as well as importance of this region regarding the dynamics of the bio-cultural changes during the Stone Age.
