Identification of Key Factors of TQM: Application of AHP and PROMETHEE Methods
In today's competitive business environment companies must invest a great effort in development of management system that will ensure their survival on the market. Total Quality Management – TQM is integrated management philosophy that has been applied worldwide for improving competiveness. In recent decades, starting from the mid 1980’s many authors have dealt with model construction that will measure TQM implementation. Based on extensive review of existing TQM models, the following key elements of TQM were extracted: supplier quality management, employee involvement and empowerment, training, processes management, customer focus and management commitment. In this paper multi- criteria decision making methods AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and PROMETHEE (Preference Ranking Organization METHod for Enrichment Evaluation) for ranking key elements of TQM in furniture manufacturing companies were used. In results, differences, advantages and disadvantages of AHP and PROMETHEE methods will be compared.
