Industry vs. Urbanism – Case study of Split metropolitan region
The paper establishes a thesis on the fundamental character of modern development of the metropolitan region of city Split on the analysis of the ambivalent relationship between industrial and urban areas. Industry, mainly cement, had a leading role in generating the development of areas, which were then peripheral points, and now are an integral part of the urban fabric of the city or belong to a larger urban agglomeration.
