Aspects of DNA Assembly Acceleration on Reconfigurable Platforms
Modern DNA sequencing instruments produce read sequences that are considerably shorter than that of the genomes, or of the studied genomic features. In order to obtain the sequence of the entire genome, these sequences need to be assembled together. For this reason, DNA assembly is the first and the most important step in any genomics project.
