Flotoflocculation of Black Coal Slurries

The paper deals with a potential utilization of column flotation machine with black coal samples from the Lazy Mine in the Ostrava-Karvina region (the Czech Republic). The objective of the research was a verification of the flotoflocculation method using three different flotation collecting agents (Montanol, Flotalex MR2, Ekofol 440) combned with flocculants (Superfloc A120, Praestol 2935, Sokofloc 26BH). The aim was to reach condition coal concentrates with the ash content below 10%. The acquired results imply thet the flotoflocculation method is suitable for this coal type. The best results were obtained with flotoflocculation applying the Flotalex MR2 flotation collecting agent and the Praestol 2935 flocculant - the ash content was lowered below 10% and the concentrate yield value was 78.01%.
