Getting personal: Implementing a personalised approach in teaching Business English
The paper discusses the advantages of implementing a personalised approach in teaching Business English. Personalisation as a term normally implies something that is designed or changed so that it is suitable for the needs of an individual. This paper explores the definition further and offers an alternative outlook on ‘personalisation’ as an umbrella term for creating both personal and personalised approach to Business English. The proposed approach primarily concerns roles of the practitioner in terms of determining the approach to subject-specific content as well as in creating and developing course materials and designing tailor-made communicative activities for enhancing learners’ individual communicative skills.
