Suppression of Mechanical Vibrations with Linear Active Resonator - Experimental System
The linear active resonator (LAR) is a new type of vibration absorber. It is formed of a classical passive absorber with a single dynamic linear feedback. This additional actuator produces designated resonance frequencies in the LAR, i.e. the damping of the passive absorber is "removed" at one, two or more frequencies simultaneously. As a result, the LAR is an ideal resonator that theoretically absorbs vibrations from the point of attachment completely. This active absorber does not need any information from the primary system that it is attached to: It is autonomous in on-line operation. The main purpose of this paper is to present laboratory system with torsional type of the LAR and experimental results achieved with this system. It is three-mass dc drive system that can be used to control vibrations up to 20 Hz. Given results comfirm theoretical derivations.
