Induction Heating Frequency Converter with Digital Control

Application of a digital microprocessor system for induction heating frequency converter control is presented. Converter is a thyristor load-resonant type intended for supplying of medium frequency induction heating loads. Characteristics of converter power circuit and control circuit hardware are described. The most of converter control, measurement and protection circuits are designed as software functions are explain. Using of digital control essentially simplifies hardware circuits and offers many new opportunities at the same time. The digital control system is applied and tested on the induction heating frequency converter of type IGSF 100 kW, 1000 Hz.
