Excitation System with Microprocessor Based Twin-channel Voltage Regulator for Synchronous Machines

In this article a synchronous machine excitation system with microprocessor based twin-channel voltage regulator is presented. Block diagram of excitation system with digital voltage regulator is shown and the main parts of excitation system briefly described. Block diagram of twin-channel voltage regulator is shown, too. The characteristic responses of excitation control system of synchronous generator in typical disturbances are presented.
