Complex 3D Pinion-Gear Model

The paper deals with the generation of 3D FEM model consisted of the meshing pinion and gear sectors. The validity of the adopted approach for spur tooth fillet stress determination, has been examined and the stresses compared with the fillet stresses obtained by calculation procedure according to standard ISO, 2D BEM and 3D FEM calculation. Complex pinion-gear model enables a tooth fillet stress field to be established for actual load sharing between the tooth pairs in contact through the engagement.
