Ethical Questioning Of Using Modern Economic Slavery In Contemporary Industrial Production
Slavery did not end with abolition in the 19th century. The practice still continues today in one form or another in countries all around the world. It is estimated that at least 36 million people are forced to live in modern economic slavery around the world today. Modern slavery economy is profitable, generating at least US$32 billion in profits every year. Slavery is hidden away in factories and labor camps of the world’s richest and poorest nations. With the power of modern social networks we can expose these hidden crimes against humanity and thus help to eradicate this inhumane practice.
