RESCUE IN THE EVENT OF AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT AT SEA
According to the provisions of the International Civil Aviation Organization every airport has to have Emergency plan and rescue-firefighting service which must act immediately in case of an accident. This formation is typically equipped with vehicles on wheels at airports on the mainland and if the airport is in the vicinity of water surface it should use boats i.e. adequate vehicles. Airports both in our country and in the world as a rule do not have vessels for action in the event of aircraft accident at sea but rather in agreement with the state institutions authorized for search and rescue (of aircraft) at sea provide the necessary vehicles i.e. vessels from the army and other state institutions and agencies as well as private ones. The paper points out the specifics of rescue in the event of aircraft accident at sea and on the water on the example of forced landing on the Hudson river, as well as on the problems of wetlands and birds in the vicinity of airports as factors that endanger the safety of aircraft in landing and take-off on the example of certain airports on the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea.
