Sažetak
In radiotherapy with linear accelerator, for photon beam energies higher than 10 MV, secondary neutrons and their associated photons are significantly produced in pho tonuclear reactions. In this work, measurements of neutron and photon ambient equivalent dose rates ( ) are car ried out inside and outside of the treatment room. Measurements were performed with the linear accelerator Elekta Synergy S, for 18 MV energy photon beams, with simulation of clinical conditions by placing the Alderson phantom on the pat ient table during all measurements. ( ) were measured with the neutron BF 3 detector Thermo FHT 752, proportional detector Thermo FHT 40G and ionization chamber Gamma - Dosimeter 27091 at a height of 1 m, at points inside the treatment room, along t he maze and around the accelerator, and also outside of the treatment room, in front of the door and in the control room. Results show that ( ) depends on the gantry angle, delivered number of monitor units and photon beam field size. During the t reatment, neutron dose rate is significantly higher than photon dose rate in all points of measurements except in the control room. Neutron and photon dose rates decrease with distance from the isocentre. Neutron dose rate depends also on the cross - section of inner entrance of the maze and cross - section of the maze. Effective dose to the staff is predicted from the results obtained
