Adria LNG – Current status of the Project
Adria LNG Study Company (ALSCO) was established in 1989 when the LNG project was first started. Since then the Consortium has changed and today it comprises the following members: ERG, GEOPLIN, HEP, INA, OMV, PLINACRO, RWE and TOTAL. Croatian partners (HEP, INA and PLINACRO) have 25% share in the project. The activities undertaken by the Consortium follow the agreed schedule for the preparation of different studies, which have been mainly contracted. In parallel, the Croatian LNG Committee is established and is headed by the Minister of Economy and the State Secretary from the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The environmental impact study for the LNG project has been ordered. It should also select the best location for the terminal. The goal set by the LNG project is to finish the implementation of phase 1 of LNG terminal by the end of 2011.
