Theory of rational expectations and the choice of the monetary policy in a small open economy

This masters thesis investigates the monetary policy in Croatia and Slovenia. The objective was to determine whether the choice of monetary policy has any impact on the behavior of economic participants. The thesis concludes there is a significant difference in the structure of data between Slovenia and Croatia. Some of these differences can be attributed to the choice of the monetary policy. Also if we look at the data we see Slovenian data is “better” in terms of what are the goals of fiscal and monetary policy.
