Populacije oligoheta i ličinaka hironomida u rijekama Kupi i Krki u odnosu prema uvjetima staništa
The complex ecological investigation of the rivers Kupa and Krka (Slovenia) comprised detailed analyses of qualitative and quantitative structure of the population of Oligochaeta and the larvae of Chironomidae. These groups are dominant both in number of specimens and species. The researches were carried out four times during 1981 and 1982, on the upper and lower part of the Kupa and on lower part of the Krka. The researches resulted in determination of 26 species of Oligochaeta belonging to the following families: Lumbriculidae (2 species), Tubificidae (14 sp.), Naididae (8 sp ), Enchytraeidae (1 sp.), and Lumbricidae i 1 sp.). The family of Chironomidae was represented by 10 species which belong to the following subfamilies: Chironominae (5 sp.), Oithocladiinae (3 sp.) and Thanypodinae (2 sp.). Number of Oligochaeta and larvae of Chironomidae in the population of macroscopis invertebratae is variable regarding biocoenosis. The biocoenosis of the bottom contain on the average 31, 5% Oligochaeta and 27, 3% larvae of Chironomidae whereas the biocoonosis of the benthos contain only 1, 8% Oligochaeta and 59, 7% larvae of Chironomidae. Generally, Oligochaeta and Chironomidae which are detritophageous and contain haemoglobin in chemolymphe could be found at the bottom in water containing a lot of organic material. Oligochaeta are mainly represented by species of the family Tubificidae which are specifically attached to the bottom since they prefer muddy and gravel substratum. The larvae of Chironomidae are represented mainly by subfamilies of Chironominae and Tanypodinae. The benthos contains mainly phytophagous species and species requiring more diluted oxygen. The Oligochaeta are represented generally by the family Naididae, and Chironomidae by subfamily Orthocladiinae. On the basis of the analysis of the population of Oligochaeta and the presence of the species of Chironomidae that indicate a higher degree of pollution, it can be concluded that researched sections of the rivers suffer primarily of organic pollution.
