Interface Redesign Issues for Intelligent Tutoring System
Development of information and communication technology made of a computer a strong tool in education altogether, resulting in the development of a generation of computerized educational systems called intelligent tutoring systems, which could be considered as emulators of human teachers in the process of learning and teaching. It is however felt that the development of application technology in this field has not been accompanied by an adequate user interface design, possibly resulting in scarce support for interaction. To enforce the argument of more usable, user-centered intelligent tutoring systems we performed empirical studies for the sake of their evaluation. This is targeting the improvement of the respective user interface which would provide usable communication in order to allow users to better concentrate on the job to be done and not on the intricacies of interaction.
