Service Innovation and Market Survival: Creating Business Intelligence Competency Centers to Maximize Competitive Advantage in Banking Groups
Recently, many organizations have started to form Business Intelligence Competency Centers – cross-functional teams with specific tasks, roles and responsibilities for promoting and supporting the effective use of business intelligence across the organization in order to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. The most important aspects of overall business intelligence strategy include infrastructure, technology and human capital. Although competency centers in multinational organization face various cultural, political and legal issues that have an impact on international activity, business intelligence knowledge shared throughout the organization contributes to business optimization and enhanced performance. Therefore, the aim of this paper will be to elaborate the importance of creating business intelligence competency centers in multinational bank organizations and to present a model in order to clarify the key milestones in creating successful team capable to deliver unique strategic projects solutions within the banking group.
