The Human Sciences and Moral Judgment
The specific character of the humanities is made manifest in the fact that their object of investigation is not anything abstract or metaphysical, but primarily a manifestation and articulation of the particular social, cultural and historical circumstances in which humanity finds itself at any given moment. The object of study in the humanities is thus that to which we belong: the humanist tradition, which is made evident in a variety of differences and in a pluralism of life forms and world views.
