The Romani (Gypsies) in the social space of post- socialist countries: The example of Croatia
Romani people make the largest ethnic minority in the European Union today. According to estimates, the European population of Romani is somewhere between 11 and 12 million. Issues regarding their status, integration, employment, quality of life and education are therefore placed high on the agenda of European politics. The article brings data on the life conditions and social traits of the Romani population in Croatia and deals with the xenophobic attitude towards the Romani.
