Long-term stability of 100 pF capacitance standards

The past calibrations of the 100 pF GR 1408 fused-silica capacitor, carried out in the world famous metrological institutes over a period of more than twenty three years, have been analysed. The low drift of its capacitance is confirmed. As a "witness", or stationary standard that can be compared with the reference before and after transportation to the calibration laboratory, the air-type capacitor GR 1404-B of 100 pF, placed into a special air ultrathermostat, is used. The analysis of its capacitance shows a much lower drift compared to the same type of standard without special temperature enclosure.
