Psychopsyhsiology in stress related disorders: our experience
Aim: To present results of our published psychopsyhsiological studies, and our clinical experience with applied psychopsyhsiology, biofeedback and neurofeedback for stress related disorders. Results: In chronic trauma group (war veterans PTSD) startle habituation ande baseline HR were the most reliable psychopsyhsiology indices of PTSD (1), and in acute trauma group (traffic accident ASD) it was EDA (2). ASD resulting from interpersonal assault had similar psychopsyhsiological profile to PTSD (3). Heightened startle magnitude in acute trauma (civil) seemed as a good predictor of PTSD, and lack of startle habituation seemed as a stable marker of PTSD (4). Conclusion: Psychopsyhsiological measures should be considered as a potential biological marker for acute and chronic trauma phase.
