Inhibition of ground anchor steel corrosion by H2S- scavenger in HCl solution

The study of H2S-scavenger (SCT) containing s- Triazine was performed with the aim to evaluate its potential as a corrosion inhibitor for ground anchor steel in 1M HCl solution. Potentiodynamic polarization curves showed that SCT acted as mixed-type inhibitor. Its interaction with steel surface follows Frumkin isotherm and can be described as spontaneous process of physical adsorption. The inhibition efficiency increased with increase in scavenger concentration. Electrochemical tests performed in temperature range 293K-313K have shown that physisorption of SCT is effective process in formation of adsorbed film that protects ground anchor steel against corrosion in 1M HCl.
